NEW!

June 22, 2010

Good Morning!

Well, readers, the new blog is moving right along. Our first story, Dan and Jeannie, has been wonderfully received. The plan was to publish one chapter per week, but because of the good response, we have been publishing much faster and now the last chapter is up and awaiting your visit. And....!

A new story, The Wind and Me has begun! Very different from Dan and Jeannie, The Wind and Me is a short story about Bella, a writer who lives on the beach. I think you will like her and perhaps identify with her as well. Don't forget to share the website (below) with friends who like a good story.

Speaking of good stories, some friends and I plan to attend the International Storytelling Festival in Jonesboro, Tennessee this fall. Judy Smith, a great storyteller and good friend of mine, tells me that this is one festival I don't want to miss. Fantastic storytellers from all over the world flood into the small town with one thing in mind...to tell you a good story! Go to www.storytellingfoundation for more information.

Happy Reading, my friends!

From our Readers.....

"Sweet Beulah Land is a rich work of art. Like an exquisitely handmade quilt, you have carefully pieced together a largely misunderstood culture, and revealed to your readers the true and quiet depths of southeastern Carolina country folk. Your tales are full of passion; fun and fearful, hard and tearful. For all their mysterious ways, the folks of Beulah Land are an authentic people, a genuine breed."

"...Marilyn Denny Thomas’ third book is an engaging, well-researched novel that will make you laugh and cry and appreciate your Southern Heritage (most of it!)."

“Mix a batch of characters with some great Southern spirit. Add a cup of humor with a dash of tragedy and romance. Blend it all together and you have Marilyn Denny Thomas’s Sweet Beulah Land—a must read!”
